4 from Hubbali, 3 each from Belagavi and Mandya

For the last few weeks, Karnataka has witnessed a near-daily spike in Covid-19 cases despite the all-out efforts of the state government. On Monday, around 15 fresh cases were reported, taking the state’s tally to 247.
As per the health department media bulletin, there are 177 active Covid-19 cases which are being treated at various district hospitals. 60 patients have been discharged, 4 are in ICUs and the others’ condition is stable.
Education Minister Suresh Kumar said 4 patients are from Hubbali, 3 from Malvalli in Mandya district, 3 from Raibag in Belagavi, 2 from Bidar, one from Mudhol in Bagalkot, and one each from Doddaballapur and Bengaluru City.
Interestingly, all the fresh cases are contacts of previously infected Covid-19 cases, while the Doddaballapur patient has a history of travel to Delhi and the Bengaluru patient is infected with SARI.
