BENGALURU:
On the occasion of Animal Transport Remembrance Day on 26 Sep 2023, a Wreath Laying Ceremony was organised at Animal Transport War Memorial located at Army Service Corps Centre & College Bengaluru.
Brigadier Tejpal Singh Mann, Centre Commandant, ASC Centre (North) laid the wreath to pay homage to the Army mules (also known as the silent warriors) and to the Animal Transport drivers (muleteers) who laid their lives while defending the motherland.
The Animals and Animal Transport Drivers have played a vital role in Indian Military history by supporting the operations/missions in various capacities during time of conflict and peace.
These animals and muleteers have demonstrated unwavering courage, dedication and resilience while shouldering significant responsibilities.
The nation owes a debt of gratitude towards The Silent Warriors – The Animal Transport Warriors.
