BENGALURU:
In a minor relief for residents of Tubarahalli and Mahadevapura in East Bengaluru, the strike by private water tankers has been called off.
The private tanker operators had called a strike reportedly to protest against a ban by the tahsildar of Hoskote taluk on drawing of water from borewells.
On Wednesday, talks were held between MLA Arvind Limbavalli and the water tanker owners, and the latter agreed to call off their strike and restart water supply.
Residents of the area complain that BWSSB water supply is inadequate, especially for large apartment complexes.
