BENGALURU:
A journalist with a reputed national English TV channel has tested Covid-positive and got admitted to the CV Raman Nagar Hospital on Friday evening. This follows an earlier case of a Kannada news channel video journalist testing positive for the coronavirus.
The journalist, who reports for Republic TV from Bengaluru, had symptoms of fever and got himself tested on Tuesday. His report came positive on Friday, and he wasted no time in getting himself admitted to the hospital.
Speaking to thebengalurulive.com, the journalist said, “I walked into the hospital to get admitted after my report came positive. I did not wait a minute after I was informed about the positive report.”
Prior to that, the journalist had attended a few press briefings in the conference hall of the Vidhana Soudha on Thursday and Friday. Other journalists who had come in contact with him are now at risk of being infected.
As per sources, Deputy Chief Minister Dr CN Ashwath Narayan has seen to it that the other journalists’ swab samples will be taken by Saturday evening and has also assured hotel accommodation for those who want to self-quarantine.
