BENGALURU:
If Bengaluru is hogging media space for its burgeoning corona cases, Mysuru and Ballari are not far behind.
On Thursday, Mysuru reported its highest single-day spike of 430 cases, accompanied by 9 deaths. Ballari reported 343 cases but fortunately not a single death.
As per the bulletin of the health department, Mysuru now has 4,013 positive cases of which 2,661 are active, and 1,215 discharges of which 70 were reported on Thursday. Its overall dath toll is 137.
Ballari reported 6,063 positives till Thursday, of which 3,423 are active. The district has also reported 2,566 discharges and a total death toll of 74.
Other alarm bells
Other districts whose total caseload and Thursday figures are causing alarm are Udupi (4,142 and 248), Bengaluru Rural (2,151 and 224), Kalaburagi (5,166 and 220), and Belagavi (3,013 and 202).
