The reels, shot at an illegal sand mining site near Hire Sindhogi, featured individuals – reportedly including the brother of a local gang leader – boasting of their dominance in the sand trade. The videos, which quickly went viral, prompted swift action by the Department of Mines and Geology, in coordination with the Revenue, Police, and Forest Departments.
The victims have been identified as Mudassir and Muzammil. According to preliminary reports, the toddlers were playing near the lake when they accidentally slipped and fell into the water. Despite efforts by locals and family members, the children could not be rescued in time.
