State preparing ground for NEP, says DCM
BENGALURU:
The state government is gearing to bring in legal and administrative reforms essential to implement the National Education Policy, said Deputy Chief Minister and Higher Education Minister Dr CN Ashwath Narayan on Monday.
He was addressing the inaugural session of ‘Highlights of the National Education Policy and its implementation’, a five-day online workshop organized by the University of Bengaluru.
The new policy would make high-quality education available to all students. It would also pave the way for elimination of the ‘inspector raj’ mindset and an era of transformation would begin, the DCM said.
Prof DP Singh, President, UGC, and Dr Bhushan Patwardhan, Vice-President, UGC, spoke on the occasion. Prof KR Venugopal, Vice-Chancellor, Bengaluru University, made the introductory remarks.
