Clerk, also nabbed, was to get Rs 2 lakh ‘cut’ for providing RTC

The ACB caught a special tahsildar and a clerk red-handed while they were accepting a bribe at the tahsildar’s office at Kandaya Bhavan on KG Road on Tuesday.
Special Tahsildar Lakshmi had demanded Rs 7 lakh from an applicant for furnishing a land RTC. The ‘understanding’ was that she would receive Rs 5 lakh and clerk Prasanna Kumar would get Rs 2 lakh. Special Tahsildar Lakshmi was slated to retire in another 3 weeks.
