Bengaluru, June 30: The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 of the electoral rolls commenced on Monday with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) launching the house-to-house voter verification and enumeration drive across Bengaluru.

As part of the exercise, BLOs visited the residences of Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao and Bengaluru North City Corporation Commissioner Pommala Sunil Kumar, where they distributed and collected the Enumeration Forms, marking the formal rollout of the voter verification campaign.

The participation of the two senior civic officials highlighted the importance of the nationwide electoral roll revision exercise and encouraged citizens to actively cooperate with election officials.

Speaking on the occasion, the officials appealed to all eligible voters to participate in the SIR 2026 process by filling and submitting the Enumeration Forms provided by BLOs during their door-to-door visits.

They emphasized that the Special Intensive Revision aims to ensure that every eligible citizen is included in the electoral roll while maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the voters’ list.

Officials urged residents to keep the required documents ready and extend full cooperation to Booth Level Officers during the verification process so that no eligible voter is left out of the electoral rolls.

The Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision exercise includes house-to-house visits by BLOs, verification of voter details, collection of enumeration forms, and subsequent publication of draft and final electoral rolls as per the notified schedule.

The authorities reiterated that active public participation is essential for strengthening the electoral process and ensuring free, fair, and inclusive elections by maintaining an accurate and updated voter database.
