Senior citizens can now travel in BMTC buses
BENGALURU:
When BMTC resumed its city bus services on May 19, senior citizens, pregnant women and children below the age of 10 were not allowed to board the buses. Now, a waiver has been given for senior citizens.
On Monday, a corporation release said that as per the government’s orders, passengers above 65 years are permitted to travel by buses. Seniors citizens will continue to be given a concession in the ticket fare and the monthly pass.
However, there is no mention of a similar permission to pregnant women and children below 10.
