Congress leader, Sandeep Dikshit, has openly criticized the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for requesting additional information from the United States concerning the 1980s Bofors scandal, describing the action as having political underpinnings. Dikshit highlighted a 2004 Supreme Court decision which cleared former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi of wrongdoing in the case.
