Namazis caned for flouting orders
Gokak:
Where announcements don’t work, police lathis do. In Gokak town of Belagavi district, the local cops dispersed a crowd of worshippers by caning them. More than 30 persons were caned into rushing out helter-skelter from the premises of two mosques.
The police have initiated action against the prayer leaders for not following the government’s orders on closing places of worship to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
