Riots’ prime accused arrested
BENGALURU:
A prime accused in the city riots case, K Wajid Pasha, has been arrested by the police. Pasha heads the ‘Tipu Tiger Alfath Trust’ and also has links with the JDS.
A few days ago, he had posted on social media that MLA Akhanda Srinivas Murthy was ‘missing’. Following a complaint by the MLA’s supporters, he was called for a ‘compromise’ to the police station.
On the day of the DJ Halli and KG Halli riots, Wajid was among those who had complained against the MLA’s nephew Naveen. He questioned the ‘delay’ of 2 hours in arresting Naveen, but the police explained that it takes 2 hours to file an FIR as preliminary investigation has to be done.
According to the police, Wajid had later instigated the mob that vandalised the DJ Halli police station.
