BENGALURU:
The CCB and the East division police are on the look-out for 2 persons who were livestreaming Tuesday night’s riots on social networking sites.
The mobile phones of the duo, identified as Mudasir Ahmed and Sohail Ahmed from DJ Halli, have been switched off ever since, and their kin and friends are being questioned for clues to the duo’s whereabouts.
Following an allegedly provocative social media post by Naveen, a nephew of Pulakeshinagar Congress MLA Akhanda Srinivas Murthy, a mob attacked the house of the MLA and the police stations at DJ Halli and KG Halli.
Sohail and Mudasir started livestreaming the incidents at around 8 pm on Facebook and Instagram. The videos went viral and further inflamed religious sentiments, according to the police.
Later, Sohail changed his account on Instagram. The inflammatory videos are in the possession of the police.
