Bengaluru: Renjala recorded Karnataka’s highest rainfall of 71.5 mm in the 24 hours from 8.30 am on November 1 to 8.30 am on November 2, according to the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre’s (KSNDMC) latest rainfall map.
The map, based on gram panchayat telemetry rain gauges, identifies the maximum reading at Renjala in Karkala taluk of Udupi district. It is a station reading, rather than a district-wide rainfall total.

An earlier preliminary station list covered a different period, from 8.30 am on November 1 to 7.30 am on November 2. It recorded 71.5 mm at Renjala, 63.75 mm at Irvatharu and 48.5 mm at Belman, with the latter two also listed under Karkala in Udupi district. Padumarnad recorded 47.5 mm in that earlier list.
The earlier two tables contained readings from 69 telemetry stations. Those neighbouring readings relate to the 23-hour period ending at 7.30 am and should be distinguished from the subsequent 24-hour map.
KSNDMC had described the earlier observations as preliminary, saying the data would be treated as final only after any anomalous or incorrect values had been checked.
