Rajendra Cholan is new Bescom MD

Cholan will continue to hold concurrent charge as BBMP Special Commissioner (Health)

BENGALURU:

The state government has transferred 2008 batch IAS officer P Rajendra Cholan as Managing Director of Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (Bescom).

The order with immediate effect was issued late on Saturday. Cholan will continue to hold concurrent charge as BBMP Special Commissioner (Health & IT). Currently, Cholan is actively looking after Bengaluru’s Covid-19 related issues.

Cholan’s appointment as Bescom MD comes after Rajesh Gowda was transferred as Commissioner of Bangalore Development Authority. Gowda had continued to hold concurrent charge as Bescom MD.

Cholan has earlier worked as Bescom MD. Prior to his BBMP posting, he was posted in Dharwad.
