Public TV anchor Arun Badiger’s parents succumb to Covid-19

Badiger’s brother and sister also infected, in hospital

BENGALURU:

Popular Kannada news channel Public TV ‘s anchor Arun Badiger lost his mother and father in a gap of four days. Both succumbed to Covid-19.

Arun’s mother Kasturba Badiger (53) was admitted at Hubballi’s KIMS Hospital and lost her battle with the virus on April 27, while his father Chandrashekhar (60) died on April 30.

Sources said that Arun’s younger brother (28) and sister (25) are also infected with Covid and are admitted at KIMS Hospital.

‘Invitation’ to virus?

A source also said that Arun’s sister’s marriage was scheduled on April 25 and all the family members were busy distributing invitation cards. In a span of a few days, Arun’s mother Kasturba developed a high fever and she was confirmed Covid-positive after a test.

Later, all the family members got tested and all were found infected with the dreaded virus. As per hospital sources, Arun’s brother and sister are said to be stable and out of danger.
