Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the silver jubilee celebrations of the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and release a compendium of research articles through video conference on June 1.
Making the announcement, Medical Education Minister Dr.K.Sudhakar said the participation of the PM would be a feather in the cap for the university.
The university, in association with partners such as IIT-B, IISC, GHA, BBC, NSRCEL, Microsoft and Elsevier has come up with an ‘RGUHS COVID 19 Innovation Challenge’. This will be the first ever healthcare innovation challenge, the minister added.
RGUHS is entering its 25th year on June 1, having started in 1996. It is the largest Health Science university in the country with 800 affiliated institutions and more than 2.5 lakh students.
The minister thanked the 23,000 faculty members of the university for actively taking part in the war against Covid-19.
