Ramanagara district is chosen for first batch of beneficiaries
NEW DELHI/ RAMNAGARA:
In an online function on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi distributed property cards under the Svamitva (Survey of Villages and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas) scheme to villagers in six states, including beneficiaries in Karnataka.
Each card has a unique identity number similar to the Aadhaar card, and properties are mapped using drone technology.
Around 157 villagers in MG Palya, Majare Sebakatte, Basavapatnam and Majare Shambhayyana Palya villages received the download link on their mobiles.
Later, CEO of Ramanagara District Panchayat Ikram distributed property cards to the beneficiaries. Under instructions from BG Umesh, Deputy Director of Land Records, the beneficiaries received the cards prepared by the gram panchayat and land records department staff.
Uses of the card
The property card helps determine the property tax payable, prevents property disputes, and makes the process of obtaining a building permit simpler.
The property card contains the owner’s name, the area of the property, the area of the building, the inventory of the property, the details of the debts on the property, and a detailed map.
