Bommai updates Modi on Karnataka’s measures to control Covid-19 surge
BENGALURU:
With Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai self-isolating after testing positive for Covid-19, Prime Minister Narendra Modi dialed Bommai on Tuesday and enquired about his health.
In the telephonic conversation which went on for about 5 minutes, Modi expressed concern over his party Chief Minister’s health and suggested that Bommai take appropriate medical treatment. The call came at 4.30 pm in the middle of a virtual meeting the Chief Minister was holding to review the Covid situation in Karnataka.

CM’s kin also ‘positive’
The Chief Minister mentioned to the PM that two other members of his family were also infected, and the PM suggested that Bommai get suitable medical treatment. The Chief Minister also provided details about the Covid situation in the state to the Prime Minister.
“I am holding a virtual meeting right now in Bengaluru as a precursor to the virtual meeting you (Modi) have called on January 13. Necessary measures have been taken in the state to control Covid. The vaccination drive has been intensified. Further measures will be initiated based on suggestions from the experts,” Bommai reportedly told the Prime Minister.
