Rukmini Madegowda was vaccinated on March 13
MYSURU/BENGALURU:
Mysuru City Corporation’s newly elected Mayor, Rukmini Madegowda, and her husband have both come in contact with the coronairus. Currently, both are under home isolation.
Mysuru District Health Officer Dr Amarnath confirmed that both have contracted the virus but their health condition is stable and there is nothing to worry about.
As per sources, the Mayor had been vaccinated on March 13 and has now developed symptoms of Covid-19. Her husband Madegowda, a Zilla Parishad member, also tested positive for Covid-19.
Mayor had been ‘mixing’
The Mayor had participated in several programmes and also chaired a meeting at the Mysuru City Corporation recently.
Speaking to TheBengaluruLive, Dr Amarnath said no one has said that a person will not get Covid-19 after vaccination, since it requires a minimum of 45 days to get an immunity boost. “Both the Mayor and her husband have been infected with Covid-19 and are currently under home isolation. Their health condition is stable,” he said.
