Mysuru alarms with second highest Covid deaths after Bengaluru

Karnataka reports 8,061 discharges against 5,851 fresh cases

BENGALURU/MYSURU:

It’s now the turn of Mysuru to press the panic button, as the state’s  cultural capital has recorded the second highest number of deaths after Bengaluru in the last 24 hours. As per the bulletin released by the health and family welfare department, Mysuru recorded 25 deaths, one less than Bengaluru.

Tech City’s 26 deaths take its death toll 1,694 — the highest in the state — while Mysuru stands second 345 fatalities, followed by Dakshina Kannada with 314 Covid deaths.

The state as a whole recorded 130 deaths on Monday, taking its total fatalities to 4,810.

The highest number of new cases of 1,918 cases has been reported in Bengaluru, out of 5,851cases statewide.
According to the Department of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of infected persons in the state is 2,83,665. Of these, 1,97,625 have recovered and been discharged from hospitals, while 81, 211 continue to receive treatment. Monday also witnessed 8,061 discharges statewide.
