Doddaballapur: Social Welfare Minister and Bengaluru Rural district in-charge minister K.H. Muniyappa on November 7 urged people to make use of the Praja Seva Andolana meetings, held every Saturday so that the government reaches people to receive and resolve their grievances instead of citizens having to go from office to office.
He chaired the taluk-level Praja Seva Andolana meeting at the Government Higher Primary School grounds in Thubagere village, Doddaballapur taluk, and received petitions from the public.
The main aim of the programme is to hear the problems of farmers and the public and resolve them, with all district and taluk officials taking part, he said. The Chief Minister has directed ministers, MLAs and officials to go to the taluk and hobli level to hear people’s grievances, and such meetings are being held across the district, he said.
People should submit their applications and obtain an acknowledgement, the minister said. Applications will be entered online, and all except those involving legal matters will be disposed of within 30 days, he said.
Muniyappa said work on a Karnataka Public School (KPS) building at Thubagere, a long-standing demand of the area, would soon be launched with a bhoomi puja at a cost of Rs 2 crore. Roads, drains, house sites and houses will be provided in every village in phases, he said.
Deputy Commissioner K.N. Anuradha said many applications submitted at such meetings lack signatures, mobile numbers and other essential details, which delays solutions, and asked people to give complete information and sign their applications.
The Praja Seva Andolana began on September 1, and the Thubagere meeting was the 17th, officials said. Petitions related to podi, house sites, houses, burial ground boundaries, land and roads were received.
The minister later launched work on the road from Thubagere Cross to Mukkadighatta near Dodda Thimmanahalli. Earlier, he inspected works under way at the Ghati Subramanya temple and took information from officials on the plans for road widening, a dasoha bhavan and a multi-level parking facility.
Zilla Panchayat CEO Dr Vasanthi Amar, Additional Deputy Commissioner Ranganath, Assistant Commissioner Manjunath and other officials and local representatives were present.
