A 50-year-old woman from Arakera (K) Thanda died at a quarantine centre on Wednesday. An official said the woman died due to Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI).
Sources said that on May 20, around 24 people reached Yadagir. They had all returned from Chembur’s Bharat Nagar in Mumbai.
All of them were screened at the checkpost and the woman was found suffering from acute shortness of breath. She was rushed to the new district office without waiting for an ambulance to arrive. The woman died within minutes.
The woman’s swab sample was sent for a Covid-19 test. The others were taken in KSRTC buses to government quarantine.
