Day after inspecting the rain havoc affected areas in the city, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddiyurappa on Sunday assured suitable compensation to people suffered since last few days in the city

Speaking to media before flying to Shivamogga, he said the already sanctioned Rs 25,000 for family members affected due to rain and for others suitable compensation will be provided.

Mentioning that the city has been facing severe problems due to continuous rains and heavily damaged to hundreds of houses besides low laying areas completely inundated with rain waters and expecting more rains people have been under pressure he added that he would take up by-elections campaign at Sira constituency on October 30.

He had already toured and taken the aerial survey in affected places and if necessary he will visit again to take up another tour.

While speaking to reporters at Shivamogga, he said not only Sira and RR Nagar by-elections but we will win all future elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is leading an administration that is admired worldwide and he will be PM again.

He said that state has been experienced never seen before the floods situation particularly in north Karnataka.

He said that he will travel across the state and strive for its overall development, we will start engineering and medical colleges along with graduate and post-graduate courses from November 17.

Students who are interested can attend colleges and one line courses also continued, he added. (Agency)
