New Delhi: Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal on Tuesday moved ‘one nation, one election’ bills for introduction in Lok Sabha.
Speaking first from the opposition was Congress MP Manish Tewari who termed One Nation, One Election bills assault on basic structure doctrine of Constitution.
“Introduction, consideration of ONOE bills beyond legislative competence of this House, urge govt to withdraw it,” Tewari said.
SP member Dharmendra Yadav also opposed ONOE bills, and termed them as an attempt by BJP to bring in ‘dictatorship’ in country.
