Amid nationwide suspense over the continuation of the April 14-ending lockdown, Prime Minister Narendra Modi kicked off a video conference with all CMs a few minutes ago on Saturday. For the first time, the PM Modi wore a face mask — a non-verbal hint to citizens that everyone should wear a mask in public.
He has allotted 5 minutes for individually discussing the coronavirus issue with each chief minister. One can expect an official announcement on extending the lockdown from the PM after the meeting. Already, the CMs of Odisha and Punjab have gone ahead and extended the lockdown in their states till April-end.
Many states, including Karnataka, are undecided on whether to end or continue the lockdown. So it is interesting to see what Prime Minister Modi will say after the CMs’ meeting.
