BENGALURU:
The Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services Director has issued a directive to all district administrations in Karnataka to make eggs, chicken and mutton available to the public.
The order issued on Thursday says sale of eggs and poultry/goat meat is exempted during the lockdown. All district administrations should ask shops to make eggs and meat available to customers, it says.
As per a March 27 circular, the government has permitted the rearing of chicken, sheep, goats, pigs, etc, and their transportation, and also the transportation of animal feed, liquid nitrogen meant for veterinary use, semen straws, and other such items related to the animal husbandry and fisheries sector.
