Bengaluru is second followed by Davanagere and Kalaburagi

It’s not Bengaluru anymore but Mandya which has the dubious distinction of being the Karnataka district with the highest number of Covid-19 active cases at 144. Bengaluru follows with 116 cases.
As per the data released by the Karnataka Health and Family Welfare Department, Bengaluru might have reported the highest number of 250 positive cases since March 8 but it has only 116 active cases. The state capital also has the highest number of deaths at 9.
Mandya district, which was quiet since the last two months, saw a recent surge in infections with Kannadiga returnees, mostly from Mumbai, boosting the positive cases to 168 and active cases to 144. On Tuesday, one women in quarantine died after a heart attack, and her test result is yet to be received by health officials.
Meanwhile, Davanagere is third in the stateat with 99 active cases reported in the last couple of days and four deaths.
Kalaburagi is in the fourth place with 72 active cases and seven deaths, Hasaan fifth with 53 active and Belagavi sixth with 51 active and one death. Three districts, Bagalkot (one death), Bidar (two deaths) and Uttara Kannda (no deaths), share the seventh position with 44 active cases each.
Currently, Karnataka has 864 active cases out of the reported 1 ,462 positive cases. The state has also reported 556 discharges and 41 deaths.
