Mahendra Jain is now No 2 in Karnataka bureaucracy
Jain will continue to hold charge of Revenue Department
BENGALURU:
The New Year 2021 has brought promotions and career cheer to several IAS officers, including 1985 batch IAS officer Mahendra Jain, who now becomes the second seniormost bureaucrat in Karnataka.
The state government has appointed Jain as Additional Chief Secretary to the government, in the vacancy created by P Ravikumar being escalated to Chief Secretary. TM Vijay Bhaskar retired as Chief Secretary on December 31.
Jain will continue to be Additional Chief Secretary to the Revenue Department. He will retire from services in the month of March 2021.
