Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa said on Saturday that the lockdown would be implemented very strictly in the state over the next few weeks.
He was addressing mediapersons after a 4-hour-long video conference of chief ministers with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The CM said detailed guidelines would be issued by the Prime Minister in the next 2 days.
He said the Prime Minister suggested that there be ‘no compromise’ during the lockdown period and appreciated Karnataka’s implementation measures.
“The Government of India will announce guidelines for the next two weeks. The Prime Minister also appreciated the chief ministers’ practical suggestions,” he said.
Yediyurappa said the next three to four weeks are very crucial for the country in the bid to prevent the further spread of the coronavirus.
He also suggested there should be no compromise on misbehaviour against medical staff who are treating coronavirus positive cases.
