Bengaluru: A leopard was spotted once again in Byadarahalli on Wednesday morning, marking the fifth sighting in the Bharath Nagar area within the past 20 days, triggering fresh concern among residents.
According to local residents, the leopard was seen around 3.27 am on the 12th Main Road in Bharath Nagar before it moved towards a nearby forested area.
Residents alleged that despite repeated sightings, the Forest Department has not been able to capture the animal. They said a trap cage placed in the area has so far only caught stray dogs, while the leopard continues to roam freely.
Locals said frequent leopard sightings have created fear among residents, with many hesitant to venture outdoors, especially during the early morning hours. They also claimed the presence of a large number of stray dogs in the locality could be attracting the animal.
Residents urged the Forest Department to take immediate measures to capture the leopard and ensure public safety.
