VIJAYAPURA:
No matter how often the public is exhorted to practise precautionary social distancing in a time of coronavirus, many people — including netas who should be leading by example — couldn’t care less. In Karnataka alone, there have been at least 3-4 instances of VIP weddings with hundreds in attendance — a surefire prescription for Covid-19 infection.
In such a casual, undisciplined scenario, where humans aren’t setting a good example, maybe one particular bovine can!
A picture of a cow ‘practising’ its own intuitive version of ‘social distancing’ has drawn much attention. The incident happened in Basavana Bagewadi town of Vijayapur district on Sunday. The cow is clearly keeping its distancewhile standing in front of a bakery, hoping to get lucky!
In fact, call it coincidence or something only the cow can reveal (if only it could talk!), the four-legged ‘customer’ is actually standing on a ‘social distancing’ square drawn in front of the shop for humans!
Post-script: The bovine’s patience was rewarded with a tasty mouthful offered by the shopkeeper.
