Bengaluru-Karwar-Bengaluru train to take diversion
MANGALURU:
A landslide triggered by heavy rains near the Padil railway station has disrupted traffic on the Konkan railway. According to officials, the incident took place at 1.30 pm on Sunday.
The landslide, measuring 15 metres in height and 50 metres in length, has blocked the bypass of Mysuru-Tokur-Panambur to Hassan. Goods and passenger trains on this section will now have to make a small detour to reach Mangaluru Junction and get the locomotive reversed before moving towards Hassan or Karwar. The Bengaluru-Karwar-Bengaluru Express special (06585/06586) will run on this diverted route till the track is restored.
