Kunigal MLA Dr H D Ranganath is the latest public representative to test positive for Covid-19.
Ranganath confirmed that he was infected by the virus. The MLA had a meeting with the Kunigal police last week, and is likely to have been infected by one of the constables who tested positive and was part of the meeting.
The test report came on Monday morning, and Ranganath was admitted to Manipal Hospital in Bengaluru.
The MLA shared on his Facebook page: “Hello, all my friends in my constituency. As a responsible legislator, I inform you that in the background of a Covid-infected person’s contact with me, I am now under quarantine and no one will be allowed to contact me for the next fifteen days.”
Recently, Mangaluru MLA Bharat Shetty was diagnosed with the coronavirus. Former congress union minister Janardhan Pujari is also infected with the dreaded virus and he is been treated at Mangalore hospital. Former chief minister Siddaramaiah announced this via twitter post.
