BENGALURU: The written examination for recruitment to 505 Village Administrative Officer posts in the residual parent cadre was conducted smoothly across Karnataka, with attendance of about 74%, Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) executive director H. Prasanna said.
Of the 4,11,656 applicants, 3,04,096 candidates wrote the morning General Knowledge paper and 3,03,058 wrote the specific paper in the afternoon. KEA reported attendance of 74% for each paper.
Examination held at 1,037 centres
The examination was held at 1,037 centres across the state. Dharwad had the highest number of centres, at 60. Prasanna said strict monitoring arrangements ensured the examination proceeded without problems.
OMR scanning starts as answer sheets arrive
KEA began scanning and uploading OMR answer sheets to its website as soon as they arrived after the examination.
Scanning centres have been opened in Kalaburagi, Raichur, Dharwad, Ballari, Vijayapura, Davanagere and Mysuru. The work is being carried out under the supervision of the local deputy commissioners. In Bengaluru, scanning is being conducted at the KEA office.
In the authority’s October 4 update, Prasanna said OMR copies for all candidates would be available on the KEA website by the evening of October 5.
