Karnataka to include Covid-19 in curriculum

Education Minister wants syllabus pared for all classes

BENGALURU: 

The Karnataka government may become the first in the country to include Covid-19 in the school curriculum from the current educational year.

This was indicated by Primary and Secondary Education Minister S Suresh Kumar, who chaired a meeting of officials to cut down the syllabus for all classes as well as for both years of PU.

Addressing the media, he said the government was thinking of including a small chapter on Covid-19 for classes 6 to 10,  which would include the preventive measures taken by the Karnataka and Central governments as well as globally.

The government is also seriously thinking of promoting supplementary learning through YouTube, the minister said.
