Karnataka Reviews Preparations for Recruitment Exams Covering Over 70,000 Government Posts
Bengaluru, July 23: The Karnataka Home Department on Thursday conducted a high-level review meeting to assess preparations for the forthcoming recruitment examinations for more than 70,000 State Government posts, including police recruitment examinations scheduled during August, September and the following months.
The meeting was chaired by Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Rajender Kataria and attended by Director General of Police (Recruitment) Umesh Kumar, Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Hitendra, Revenue Commissioner Meena Nagaraj, Karnataka Examinations Authority Executive Director Prasanna, Commissioners of Police, Deputy Commissioners, Superintendents of Police and other senior officers.
Reviewing district-level preparedness, Kataria directed all authorities to ensure meticulous planning and close coordination among departments so that the examinations are conducted in a peaceful, secure, fair and transparent manner. He stressed foolproof security at examination centres, secure transportation and custody of confidential examination materials, adequate police deployment, traffic management, emergency response arrangements and continuous monitoring by senior officers.
Officials were instructed to remain on high alert against question paper leaks, impersonation, organised cheating, the use of electronic devices and other unfair practices. Cyber Crime Units and Intelligence Wings have been directed to closely monitor digital platforms and take immediate action against any attempt to compromise the integrity of the examinations.
The Home Department reiterated that the government follows a zero-tolerance policy towards examination malpractices and said strict action will be taken under the Karnataka Public Examination (Measures for Prevention of Corruption and Unfair Means in Recruitment) Act, 2023 against anyone found violating the law.
The Police Recruitment Examination schedule includes the written examination for 3,991 Civil Police Constable posts on August 2, 1,600 Armed Police Constable posts on September 6, and 2,314 Special Police Constable posts in KSRP, IRB and KSISF on September 20.
The Home Department reaffirmed its commitment to conducting all recruitment examinations in a free, fair, transparent and secure manner while ensuring equal opportunity for all candidates.
