Karnataka Minister inspects site for Rani Chennamma varsity

CM to lay foundation stone for Belagavi campus on Dec 22

BELAGAVI/BENGALURU:

The Kittur Karnataka region will benefit from the new Rani Kittur Chenamma University, Dr CN Ashwath Narayan, Minister for Higher Education, said on Thursday after a visit to the proposed site of the university campus at Hirebagewadi. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai is scheduled to lay the foundation stone of the campus in December 22.

After a recce of the 125 acres designated for setting up the university, he discussed matters regarding facilities to be established on the new campus with the Vice-Chancellor and other prominent stakeholders.

“The new campus will be student-friendly, with all modern facilities. The progress of education in the Kittur Karnataka region will be fostered by setting up the university in an expeditious way,” the Minister said.

Ramachandra Gowda, Vice-Chancellor, and other officials were present during the Minister’s visit.
