BENGALURU:

Karnataka has apparently been ‘favoured’ by the Centre with the highest allocation among Indian states of the antiviral drug Remdesivir. For the period between May 17 and May 23, the Centre has allocated 4.25 lakh vials of Remdesivir to Karnataka, Deputy CM and state Covid task force head Dr CN Ashwath Narayan said on Sunday.

Dr Narayan said the allocation amount had been confirmed by Union Minister DV Sadananda Gowda.

Giving the national figures for Remdesivir allocation, the DyCM said since April 21 the Centre had allotted 76 lakh vials of the drug to several states, and out of this Karnataka had been given 10 lakh vials.
