Narayan contradicts Chief Secy, says 2.5 lakh vaccine doses coming daily to Karnataka
BENGALURU:
Even as Karnataka Chief Secretary P Ravi Kumar categorically admitted in Wednesday that Karnataka, like other states, was facing a shortage of Covid vaccines, Deputy Chief Minister Dr CN Ashwath Narayan said equally emphatically that there was no shortage of vaccines for the second dose for the 45+ group in the state.
To a query posed by a journalist on Wednesday, Narayan said, “Currently 2.5 lakh doses of vaccine are being provided daily. Thus there is no vaccine problem anywhere. Previously only 1 lakh doses were given. There is no shortage for those who are to receive the second dose.”
The Deputy Chief Minister said that providing the first dose is only a ‘minor problem’ which will be sorted out.
’45+ must register online’
People should not rush to vaccination centres, he urged, adding that those over the age of 45 must also register online.
