Bengaluru: Ten trained dogs are assisting anti-poaching and forest crime detection efforts across five tiger reserves in Karnataka, according to the state government.
The Karnataka Forest Department has launched a forest dog squad training centre, which the government described as the first of its kind in the country.
The dogs trained at the centre are being used to help detect poaching and offences involving forest resources. The government said the initiative would strengthen the protection of forests and wildlife.
