Karnataka Minister for Primary and Secondary Education S Suresh Kumar on Wednesday said that a decision on reopening schools in the state will be taken in the next five days.
Speaking to newsmen after a meeting with officials of the Education department in the city on Wednesday the minister clarified that no decision was taken in Tuesday’s meeting on the subject.
He said that a meeting of all the top officials of the concerned departments and district officials will be held and the situation will be reviewed. He added after the meeting and receiving feedback from all quarters, the same will be discussed with the chief minister following which a decision will be taken.
Earlier, on Tuesday, the minister noted that the experts had suggested that it would be better if schools are reopened in a phased manner. The minister said that not all students can afford online education which is why they have been considering reopening the schools. (Agency)
