Ramanagara police register FIR against 30 persons over curfew violation under Disaster Management Act
RAMANAGARA/BENGALURU:
An FIR has been lodged against 30 persons, including KPCC president DK Shivakumar and opposition leader Siddaramaiah, on charges of violating the current week-end curfew in Karnataka. The curfew, among other measures, had been announced recently by the state government in view of the surge in Covid-19 cases. The police action follows a mass rally organized by the state Congress to press for the Mekedatu drinking water project.
The FIR has been registered at the Satanur police station in Kanakapura taluk of Ramanagara district. The case has been registered by the police under the Disaster Management Act, 2005.
