Karnataka Cadre IAS Officer T.K. Anil Kumar Appointed School Education Secretary at Centre
New Delhi/Bengaluru, July 24: Shri T.K. Anil Kumar, a 1995-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Karnataka cadre, is serving as Secretary, Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, Government of India.
Born on October 27, 1970, Anil Kumar hails from Kerala. He holds a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering and a Master in Public Management (MPM).
During his career in Karnataka, he served as Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare; Principal Secretary, Social Welfare; Secretary, Urban Development; and Deputy Commissioner of Shivamogga and Bidar districts.
He was later appointed on central deputation as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Rural Development before being appointed Secretary, Department of School Education and Literacy, in July 2026.
