Cops arrest accused in TV actress’s suicide case
In death video, she claims lover cheated her
BENGALURU:
In a sensational suicide case, a Kannada television actress filmed herself in the act of taking her own life by consuming poison on May 28. In the video, she claimed she had been cheated by her lover.
Chandana, 29, was a resident of Krishna Murthy Layout in Taverekere. She had appeared in teleserials, advertisements and movies. The incident came to light only on Monday morning.
Chandana and her boyfriend Dinesh had been in a relationship for some years. Dinesh allegedly took Rs 5 lakh from her on the promise of marriage and also allegedly made her terminate her pregnancy.
A case has been registered at the Suddaguntepalya police station on a complaint by Chandana’s parents. The police are on the lookout for Dinesh and his family.
