While welcoming the state government’s decision to impose a one-week lock-down in Bengaluru to check the spread of the coronavirus, former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda has demanded a similar lockdown across the state.
He has appealed to Bengalureans to leave the house only if there are is any important work. “Our health is our wealth. So if you need to go out of the house, please wear a mask, maintain social distancing, wash hands with a sanitizer and then touch things,” he said.
Referring to the state government’s Covid relief packages, Deve Gowda noted that several opposition leaders have complained of irregularities involved. “Nevertheless, let’s discuss this in the upcoming session. People’s health is important to us now. Let us all concentrate on that first. Even the government should act accordingly. We should not play with the health of the people,” he said.
The former PM appealed to the state government to stay focused on the health of the public.
