Srinivasa Gupta’s wife Madhavi had desired a flat in an apartment complex in Bhagyanagar. Her wish was fulfilled after her death by her husband. Devoted to her memory, Srinivasa decided the housewarming would not be complete without her ‘presence’ — hence the figurine.
Madhavi’s likeness weighs around 20 kg and took a year for Bengaluru’s Sridhar Murthy to sculpt in silicon. The figurine cost Srinivasa Gupta Rs 10 lakh but he says it has given both him and their children much satisfaction.
