Bengaluru: Urban school students in Karnataka will get an opportunity to learn about village life through field visits under Gramanubhava, a programme that connects classroom learning with the everyday work and experiences of rural communities.
The initiative is being introduced for students in Classes 8, 9 and 11 in urban taluks across the State. A release from the State Project Director of Samagra Shikshana Karnataka said the programme aims to give students a direct understanding of rural life.
Learning from farmers, artisans and village communities
During educational visits, students will interact with farmers, artisans, anganwadi workers and other members of rural communities. The emphasis is on practical learning, allowing students to connect what they study in the classroom with the realities of village life.
The programme also seeks to develop an appreciation of agriculture, rural culture and the environment. The release describes the visits as an opportunity to build values through experience and make learning more meaningful and memorable.

Chief Minister D K Shivakumar is scheduled to launch Gramanubhava at Bengaluru’s Kanteerava Stadium at 8 am on November 1, as part of the Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations.
