Bengaluru, July 15: Former MLA Manjunath has said that a petition has been submitted to the Governor seeking an investigation into alleged land irregularities in Malur, claiming that land in the Governor’s name was transferred to other names using fake documents.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday, Manjunath alleged that the land had also been converted and that fake records had been created for 100 acres of land. He further alleged that an Andhra-origin person identified as Gangadhar had put up a compound around 300 acres, including lake, drain, road and cremation ground land.
Manjunath also alleged that the district administration, local politicians and the police had supported the irregularities. He said that if the matter was allowed to continue, similar illegalities would take place around Bengaluru as well.
He said the issue had been brought to the Governor’s attention.
